As a wedding planner, styled wedding shoots are some of the best ways for me and all the vendors involved to fully design th event to target potential clients. After the last big styled shoot I planned and boosted my business, I was more than happy to do another one along with this amazing team. We all worked extremely hard to make this day worthwhile and the support everyone has given us means so much. Enjoy this little backstory, design inspo, and vendor appreciation blog!
This styled shoot took form after a group of us met at a mixer hosted by the Santa Clarita Wedding Pros and Wedding Event Society in Newhall. That same day we all decided to come together and start planning for a beautiful fall themed event. Kaycie (Love & Legacy) and I spent two months designing and putting together everything for the shoot. We met once a week with the different vendors to discuss details and Joelyn from 24/7 Events let us have fun picking out the tablescape at their showroom. Kaycie also brought all the decorations to set up the ceremony area at the venue. We all coordinated to make the end product look perfect.
I wanted to create a fall inspired styled shoot with a touch of minimalism and romanticism. We chose October because its what worked with all of our schedules. Being California, its still warm weather for us, so we chos softer and muted colors. We wanted the overall look to feel warm but also elegant, so we played with the flowers and textures. We used a lot of neutrals, greens and woods, with the accent colors being golds and coppers. I gave everyone the opportunity to express their abilities with this shoot. Each person brought a different element into this production, really showing their gifts and talents.
Antonia (Italia Rose Photography), Bernadette (Bridesmaid) and Patrick (Video) flew in from Washington to join the team. Hartley Botanica came in clutch after our original location had to cancel due to management reasons. The new venue was absolutely stunning and everyone was obsessed. Christine (Christine Li Photography) thankfully was available last minute to come in as the second shooter since it became a larger production as the planning proceded. The cake was absolutely delicious, and Courtney (Teehan Bakery) even served us all a piece afterwards. Sophie (Taylor Design Studio) hand made every item she provided, from the goodie boxes to the tables numbers. She even saved the day by picking up and returning the lounge furniture after Papillon Rentals was unable to deliver them.
The main attraction was definitely the mobile trailer bar that Bri (Happy Trails Bar Co) literally hauled into the reception area. We put it next to the lawn games from Pennie (Backyard Bevy) which were a fun touch to the styled shoot. The ladies who participated as models were such sports and straight up naturals. They showed off the gorgeous dresses from AW Bridal and Revelry, who were so easy to work with. Lilibeth (Lili Makeup Artist) and Xochi (Style Me Xochi) did a fantastic job on them too. They even touched up some of the vendors for the individual branding shoots we all had for our businesses. Chelsea (Sunday Republic) worked on making everything come together with the beautiful florals and Claudia (Shescloudy Calligraphy) brought in the final touches like the welcome sign and bar menu.
As for the lovely couple, I found the groom through Friar Tuxs page on Instagram (one of Christines photos), reached out and asked if him and his wife would like to join our shoot, and they were more than happy to. Turns out they didnt have a wedding, just signed to legally be married, and had no pictures. They were both excited and emotional the day of the shoot and really took in every moment. We all were living off their love and happiness that day for sure. It really added extra joy to the shoot and thats the reason why we all love doing what we do. I am truly grateful to have worked with this incredible team of professionals. We all had so much fun during the planning process and at the shoot as well. Excited for the next one!
